Meet Gemma Clarke;

What is your main streamline of work?

My passion is certainly bridal and event makeup. I do also branch out to commercial, film and SFX regularly for all an array of projects. 

 

What makes your clients choose you?

I believe the way I style peoples makeup by enhancing their natural beauty is what my clients love to see – their true selves in their best light. Also, being reliable, friendly, organised, well equipt and calm keeps my clients looking no further for their special events.

 

How did you become a makeup artist?

I have always been interested in makeup since a young teen, proceeding to ignore advice to sit A levels and go straight to college to study my art - Theatrical & Media Makeup Artistry including part level 2 Hair dressing for 2 years. I there began my journey assisting other artists and building a professional portfolio, gaining a vast client base over the past 12+ years. 

 

Who would be your dream client?

It would have to be Beyonce – because… well she’s Beyonce! 

 

What do you love most about being a makeup artist?

I love seeing transformation reactions. People seeing themselves in a whole new light and realising the potential of their features and natural beauty. A clients reaction to my work is a magical feeling. 

 

How would you describe your makeup style in 3 words?

Enhancing natural beauty. 

 

What can somebody expect when they sit in your makeup chair?

They can expect a warm and friendly approach with an understanding ear and professional hands to help achieve their desired look. Clients describe me to have a light touch with a makeup finish that doesn’t feel heavy.

 

How do you want your work to be remembered? 

Being versatile to suit my each clients individual needs that will never feel unnecessarily overdone. A true representation of beauty and confidence. 

 

What areas do you cover?

I am based in Warwickshire, covering mainly here including Stratford upon Avon, Coventry, Leamington Spa, Warwick, the West Midlands, Worcestershire & Cotswolds. I do often travel further afield, including internationally to cater for all my clients makeup desires, so do not hesitate to reach out – no matter your location.
